Module 2 Lab

 

Module 2 required the creation of a land use/land cover map of Pascagoula, Mississippi. Twelve level II USGS Standard Land Use/Land Cover classification codes were used to categorize the areas shown in the image. The accuracy of the classifications was then tested via ground truthing. Thirty points were randomly selected to be verified and are shown on the map. Of the 30 points selected, 3 points were inaccurate, giving the map an overall accuracy of 90%.
